About Ron
Ron Stewart is a lifelong resident of Grant County and a conservative Republican candidate for re-election as Grant County Commissioner in District 3. First elected in 2022, Ron is running for re-election to continue bringing conservative leadership, fiscal responsibility, and common sense solutions to county government.
Born and raised in Grant County, Ron graduated from Madison-Grant High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in finance from Ball State University. He later completed his MBA at Indiana Wesleyan University. After college, Ron began his career as a credit analyst with STAR Financial Bank in Marion and has spent more than two decades working in banking and financial services, helping families, farmers, and small businesses succeed.
Today, Ron works in commercial banking and brings extensive experience in financial management, lending, and business development. That professional background gives him a practical understanding of budgeting, responsible spending, and the importance of building a strong local economy.
Ron has always believed in giving back to the community that raised him. Before being elected county commissioner, he served eight years on the Madison-Grant School Board, where he stood firmly for parents, students, and educators. During his time on the board, Ron pushed back against policies that did not reflect the values of local families and worked to ensure schools remained focused on protecting children and supporting student success.
In addition to his role as commissioner, Ron continues to serve Grant County through several leadership roles. He currently serves on the East Central Indiana Regional Planning District Executive Board and the East Central Indiana Solid Waste District Board of Directors, helping guide responsible regional planning for the future.
Ron has long been active in community organizations across the county. His past service includes the Grant County Crime Stoppers Board, the Elwood Chamber of Commerce Board where he also served as president, and the Grant County United Way Board. In recognition of his commitment to community involvement, he was honored with the STAR Financial Bank Community STAR Award.
Ron is the proud father of two daughters, Sloane and Mia, both graduates of Madison-Grant High School. His deep roots in the community continue to shape his commitment to serving the people of Grant County.
